Our work brings together a diverse community of culinary voices—from chefs and farmers to cookbook authors, food makers, and creative partners—to share knowledge, tell stories, and inspire new ideas.
Through culinary experiences, educational programs, and collaborative projects, we create opportunities to explore the world of food while celebrating the people, ingredients, and traditions that make our region unique.
The Driftless is a wide region, including Southwestern Wisconsin, that gets its name because it lacks glacial drift. Unlike much of the surrounding Midwest, our area is full of hills, bluffs, valleys, and other unique landscape features.
Because it was never covered by ice, there is also an increase in biodiversity and microclimates making the Driftless area excellent for farming of all kinds.
The nearby Mineral Point Driftless region alone has award-winning cheesemakers, organic beef and dairy farms, wineries, and other artisanal farmers. Over the last century, Mineral Point began to attract artists and a growing tourism industry.
