A breakfast pastry class has been on our list for a long time, and we’re thrilled to finally offer a Two-Day workshop inspired by Sarah Kieffer’s 100 Morning Treats. In this hands-on class, you will create three classic breakfast pastries: blueberry muffins, cinnamon scones, and cinnamon rolls. Along the way, you’ll gain an understanding of three fundamental pastry techniques:

  • The Well Method
  • The Sanding Method
  • Yeast Dough Preparation

In addition to learning how these methods work, we’ll dive into the science of how ingredients interact, how to work with yeast, and share tips and tricks to ensure you can recreate these morning pastries in your own kitchen. Plus, you’ll have the chance to roll out and shape some delicious breakfast treats to enjoy and take home.

The Book Kitchen team will provide a light snack during our break. We are working with yeast dough, so the end time for class may vary slightly.

Recipes

  • Blueberry muffins
  • Cinnamon scones
  • Buttermilk dough
  • Buttermilk cinnamon rolls

If you would like to reserve a copy of 100 Morning Treats from The Republic of Letters, check the box when registering and we will have it ready for you to purchase during the event!
