Stephanie Young is a registered dietitian who loves eating and cooking safe and delicious food. Her interest in nutrition started as a student-athlete while studying Physical Education and Health at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. After teaching for a couple years, she found her interest in nutrition pushing her toward dietetics. Stephanie completed her undergraduate degree in nutrition and dietetics in 2011 and her graduate degree and dietetic internship in 2013, both at Northern Illinois University.
Stephanie works in Dining Services at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and primarily works to help students navigate dining on campus with food allergies and different dietary needs as well as supporting them in learning how to fuel their bodies and add nutrition to their day. Her diverse role on campus also includes advising the student organization that manages Pioneer Provisions, an on-campus food pantry open to students experiencing food insecurity. Stephanie promotes a weight-inclusive, non-diet approach to nutrition that focuses on an individual’s lived experiences.
Stephanie lives in Platteville, WI with her husband, two children, and flock of five chickens.
