At The Book Kitchen, we love classic recipes and believe in mastering the fundamentals before exploring creative flavor combinations. However, we’re making an exception with our exciting hands-on class inspired by The Four & Twenty Blackbirds Pie Book, from the celebrated pie shop in Brooklyn.

There are a lot of skills to learn in this hands-on class, but it’s approachable, we promise! First, we’ll focus on making an all-butter crust. Yes, all butter – no lard, no shortening! Then, you’ll learn the secrets of making a rich and smooth salted caramel, a component that brings this apple pie to a whole new level. Finally, you’ll blend a variety of apples with your homemade salted caramel to create a filling that’s sweet and tangy.

Whether you’re a seasoned baker or a complete beginner, this class promises to be fun, educational, and utterly scrumptious.
