Cooking Demonstration with Chefs Abra Berens & Halee Wepking

As we close out this month celebrating the impact of female chefs, we are thrilled to welcome two more remarkable ones to The Book Kitchen: Abra Berens of Granor Farm in Michigan and Halee Wepking of Meadowlark Organics, in nearby Ridgeway. Inspired by Abra’s second cookbook, Grist, as well as the many grains grown at Meadowlark, they will discuss beans, seeds, grains, and legumes, exploring diverse cooking methods and techniques.
During this demonstration, you’ll learn about the unique characteristics, origins, and nutritional benefits of a variety of grains, and discover how versatile they can be in your own kitchen. Abra and Halee will prepare two delicious grain dishes, and you’ll have the opportunity to taste and learn alongside them.
