Norwegian Sun Buns

January may feel long and cold, but there’s comfort (and sunshine) to be found in the warmth of the oven. “In parts of northern Norway, to mark the return of the sun after the dark time, sun buns are often enjoyed. Egg custard with its golden hue sits front and center surrounded by sweet dough as a palpable symbol of the sun – it’s a very sweet way of welcoming in the lighter days.”

Inspired by Norwegian Baking, by Nevada Berg, we’ll bring a little of that northern magic into our own kitchen. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn to make beautifully soft yeasted dough and rich pastry cream from scratch—two essential skills for any baker. Plan on taking 12 Sun Buns home.
